I was trying to get into one of my Zofran ODT the other day, and I broke down in tears trying to get into it... and it wasn't nearly as protected as your pills are.

I've used triptans in the past that are horribly difficult to get into. I currently use Relpax, but the paper easily separates from the foil and you can use your nail to get the pill out. Now, sometimes I still need help in the midst of pain, but it's more often out of lack of coordination and fear of losing the pill.

There's no reason that a pill for migraine should require scissors to get into! What if you're not at home? You can't carry scissors with you everywhere you go (like an airplane). They're not a controlled substance (though, ironically, those usually come as just a bunch of pills in a bottle), so what's with the third degree packaging?!Chronic Migraine Warriorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01233477606042199183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6041000800660428069.post-1775893989444135212016-09-17T15:45:12.248-05:002016-09-17T15:45:12.248-05:00Those sorts of stories do have a way of making thi...Those sorts of stories do have a way of making things seem very real. Luckily my treatment (surgery + hormones) seems to be working, and with no side effects after a few months adjustment. What helped me get through the initial anxiety of going through with treatment was researching my odds. In those little informational packets of doom they give you with birth control, they don't include what the frequency is of the side effects, just that they have happened to someone. Some statistics still worried me, but it helped calm my fears on some of the bigger issues, like stroke.

Also, maybe a second opinion would help? Another doctor might have a new suggestion or perspective that could help you figure it out.

Good luck! <3stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10376314727233594908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6041000800660428069.post-44009718363914104672016-09-08T09:26:59.269-05:002016-09-08T09:26:59.269-05:00Thanks you Dee. In the summer I use slip-on sandals as slippers that have good arch support. The ones I use are Finn brand, which are extremely expensive, but I'm sure you could find something else. Yes, I do have to slip them on and off all the time, but I have gotten used to it. They also have coaching online for things like exercise, losing weight, mental health, etc. I did try their "helpful" program that meant I was on the phone for about 2 hours explaining to someone everything I have going on. They wanted to schedule a follow-up and I declined because the first call was exhausting enough. I called the nurse's line one time and it was a waste of time for the very reasons you state: they aren't knowledgeable enough to handle calls from people with multiple chronic illnesses. I go to CVS Minute Clinic when it's something like a sinus-related illness, but otherwise, I see my family doctor or the internal medicine doctor I have to oversee all that's going on with me.
